or, the ace in the sleeve
excerpt
Friday afternoon; instead of resting at home I was forced to come to school to general interviews with teachers. We're all in line, standing, raining outside and inside is hot. There is no chair on which to sit, or a stick on which to rest the coat. It's hot and I'm exhausted.
part 2/2
I see that she sees me, stares at me and then looks away. I'm looking out for you, but I already realized it's inevitable. In fact she looks around, on her right a small fat foreign mother with flat shoes and cone trunks as calves coming out of the skirt; it seems clear that she does not for her. All in all, must have thought looking at me, at least this is definitely Italian. So he lifts my back, looks at me in the face and speaks:
– I find myself so well in this school, I am really happy, the professors are very bra-viss, of course they demand a lot but I realize that having the tight sleeve is an advantage for our children. I also thought I'd send my daughter to Barbarigo, but then I told myself, but no, throw away all that money at the private school that then go out and don't even know how to study, for charity, I told my husband, we send our children to the public school. Even if I work and we could afford it, but I work a lot, you know, a lot, I have so hard weeks. –
I’ll look at it without seeing it: I’m stunned because it speaks to machine and with rustlessness and sfornail blabla continue, while I would have to think about my things, for example who knows when ever will call me the Wild, that I have decided that the next time I call me I don’t answer, so I’ll leave you long and look at the number on the phone and I’m not answering
– Why do you know I have to tell you, the averages my son did at the Pascoli... for charity, a preparation that I do not know, he took all 10 my son, all 10, and I said, but how is it possible? That I worked, you know I had a part time but I worked a lot and so I didn't follow it well, and I said how it is possible? All 10 in all subjects? I think children don't get used to other schools, and you know...
(blablabla.... the job that takes me a lot, blablabla.... ) Continue to cuff this here, I smile every now and then I think that but at the bottom, maybe next time I answer him to the Selvatico: I know that I can not answer the phone, eh no, if I see his number appear so big and white on my black screen, how do I not make the ostrich with the index finger and answer yes? But maybe here, I answer and tell him, now it's enough carromy, never call me again, but what do you think? And he'll tell me, but what do you think? Who told you anything? and then I will be able to answer – eh, caromio...eh...(silenzio anche nel mio mente) what will I answer?
– but maybe you don’t know but I have a son who now does high school does the SCIENTIFIC LICE, the Cu-Ri-E-L high school that I was so worried when I wrote it there that he had the reputation of being politically a disaster, full of strikes and (low the tone of voice, lay my hand on the mavis and says) ..comunisti... instead I can tell you to go really quiet,
(blablabla.... the job that takes me a lot, blablabla.... ) But what a wild ass! He and his eyes small, careful, the thin lips that more and more often hint at a smile, he did not smile so when I knew him the first time really, while now the lip bends and the wrinkle that starts from the left temple and descends straight on the side of the eye it makes a little deeper, it seems a thin cut that makes almost fear but when he laughs she breaks, becomes mobile and light, it turns out Tell me if I have to stay here thinking about him and his paturnies I don't know anything about, it would take me a nail kick, have it, for example the Knight Blond who asked me if I go away with him a weekend and I laughed so loud that he laughed too, on the other side of the chat, after a moment of loss laughed also him, and I told him, madddai? and he was serious, yes, of course, I take you away (and I to the words "I take you away" I felt a cramp to the heart, which I thought was rather sealed), and in the background you know how many men are around, the world is full of men, who knows this here in front of me who speaks and speaks and speaks, who knows if she knows there are a bunch of men. You don't know, this guy doesn't know.
– And my son who does the first SCIENTIFIC LICE, returned home and told me that he was desperate because he had taken 7 in the math instead of 10, that I told you that in the middle school they give all 10, and I told him that it was obvious, that the school when it is difficult and he told me that the teacher more than 7 does not give, and I said that it is fairer so, –
– Me what? – I say, waking up like a dream and fixed it, trying to figure out what it wants from me. I am so tired that I would break on the floor, I would lay my head on my knees and I would like to sleep: stand still with this chat talk stresses me. It has a purple duvet of the Monclair, season autumn/winter 2010, stuff that put the kids, full of stickers of the brand all over, the color is shiny purple, the hood lined with dark gray fleece, the open zipper.
– Because this school is really a great school, even if teachers are rigid, because I find that teachers are tight with my daughter but...
(blablabla.... the job that takes me a lot, blablabla.... ) Under the Monclair has a sweetness of pale pink thread and over a lilac cashemere sweater. It seems too much to me: it is good to play ton sur ton, but... jeans are low-life, the belly is flat, a chin with the huge H of Hermes binds the muscles of the abdomen. At the bottom, on the ground, the Timberland with the big para and the jeans slipped in. All completely dry. The hair has blonde meches, refined, just hinted right to make a little contrast, and collected them in a queue wisely made with non-chalance. And talk. Now he broke my ass. You have broken my balls all: you, the Wild, the one who has to come back, the bitch who has been in the interview for twenty minutes, the Taliban, the Zarina, Missitalia and SonZen and also the dog, you have broken my bales all. Smile, I put my shoulders on the wall, I push the pelvis forward, I cross the legs one with the other laying on the floor only the tip of the left, the neck forcefully bent forward forces my head to turn lightly to the left and to look a little from below up and I take on that extraordinarily air that my teachers screamed so much: I do not know why but this is a combination of moves that puts the others to discomfort,
– my son has already done this school, received excellent preparation.
– beh, 16. Fa la terza ti ho detto.
-Ah , ma scusa, ma tu quanti anni hai?
– 44, quasi 45.
– E’ STU PEN DOOOOO… sei proprio tu??? Sei veramente in gamba, veramente!
Stasera pizza.
